How we can really LIVE with depression
I saw this morning that 1,000,000 Australians Google search the word depression every month and globally 9 million people do this. That’s not counting all the other search variations which include the word depression! I’ve known depression and it was a very heavy lonely weight to carry around.
What I see and celebrate these days is the joy that comes to the surface when instead of turning my angry thoughts inward to myself I can either get past those thoughts and into my heart OR I am able to speak up and address current issues. No more guilt tripping or criticising myself into silence. Those days of inner isolation are rare now.
It’s strange to me that critical thoughts (these are the bedrock of depression) can weigh so much and stranger, that so many of us are willing to bear the brunt of our inner critic.
I wish all of us knew how to find our lightness within. It’s still there I want to sing out loud!
I’ve assisted a number of folk on medication and they find it hard to feel their feelings. That saddens and frustrates them and me – because to transform your critical thoughts and get to the core of the matter you need to go through a layer of feelings and FEEL these. Locked in these feelings is the energy to actually take POSITIVE ACTION. Not from your head – because you should (or rather shouldn’t be depressed) but rather because you have gotten to your life force and plugged it in!
I have to say it ‘cos it’s true – Nonviolent communication (NVC) is the most mighty tool I have found to transform this dark thought energy. Why? Because it let’s you SEE the thinking that is robbing your life force and with LOVE (there is that word again
then automatically leads you through your feelings to the very heart of matters. In that heart is the light and upliftment you are seeking. The way there is through, not around or over. So it’s good and important even, to have a specialist to partner you in this. Karen or I can help you with this.
So, do check out NVC and transfrom your anger, depression or anxiety! They are all coming from your thinking. Although it seems they have taken over who you are. I work with clients using nvc (so it doesn’t only work for me :+) ) and I promise you, you are not your depression, anxiety or even your anger.
Thank goodness, huh?
Best for your day

Hi Linda
Do you think there is a difference between the depression you are talking about Linda and chemical depression that many depressed people are talking about?
Hi Anne,
In my experience depression is about the suppression of internal feelings and needs – consciously and unconsciously. Pushing down of our life force, for good reasons that we have lost touch with.
It certainly does effects us at a physical level – and my guess is this shows up in our chemistry. It is good to work both at the physical and the emotional level (preferrably not just by using drugs that further suppress).
The above comes from my experience with clients and personally.
The phrase chemical depression seems so immovable. It can take time but I have seen major movement.
warmly
Linda
